‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Lachlan Buchanan Lands Role On CBS Primetime Drama ‘NCIS’

“The Young and the Restless” star Lachlan Buchanan [Kyle Abbott] shared the good news that he’s filming an upcoming guest starring role for CBS nighttime drama “NCIS.” Lachlan also has a new movie coming out in 2016 – “Some Freaks.”

The actor took to Twitter to let “Y&R” fans know what he’s been up to since being bumped to recurring status on the daytime drama. You may not recognize Lachlan! The photo tweeted shows Buchanan with a short military-style haircut. The photo is captioned, “My luscious locks! All in the name of Naval accuracy #ncis #navycut #feelingthebreeze.” The “NCIS” franchise garners some of the highest ratings on nighttime television.

There isn’t any further information available just yet regarding Lachlan’s role on “NCIS.” This could certainly be a springboard for the young actor to be cast in a recurring role on the show. Back in 2013 Buchanan guest-starred on two episodes of “NCIS: Los Angeles” as Brett. Is it possible Lachlan Buchanan will be seen as this character on “NCIS?”

“Y&R” fans will also get to see the Australian born actor in the movie “Some Freaks” which is due out sometime in 2016. Lachlan has been cast as Patrick in the movie about a relationship between a one-eyed boy and an overweight teenage girl. The movie follows the couple as she loses weight after going to college. The synopsis of the movie explains: “Their relationship is tested in devastating ways they never dreamed would happen.”
