‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Justin Hartley Headed To Primetime In New NBC Dramedy ‘This Is Us’

‘Y&R‘ star Justin Hartley is headed to primetime!  It’s a big day with great news for those cast in the NBC dramedy ‘This Is Us’. While several other primetime serials were receiving notice of their cancellations, NBC went ahead to order episodes for their previously untitled serial. The series now goes by the name ‘This Is Us,’ of which ‘The Young and the Restless’ actor Justin Hartley (Adam Newman) is a series regular.

A few shows yesterday were getting network pick-ups while others were cancelled for instance ‘Nashville’ and ‘Castle’. Though we are saddened that we will no longer see these series, we are very happy for Hartley and the cast of ‘This Is Us’. This was great news for Dan Fogelman, the project owner as his other two series ‘Grandfathered’ and ‘Galavant’ were canceled by Fox and ABC respectively.

According to a report from Deadline, “This Is Us follows an ensemble — some of them sharing the same birthday — whose life stories intertwine in curious ways.”

The project lists Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz, Chris Sullivan, Sterling K. Brown, Milo Ventimiglia, Susan Kelechi Watson, Ron Cephas Jones and Hartley a cast members. Hartley plays the role of Kevin who is described as “a handsome and successful television actor with underlining boredom in his ultimate bachelor life.”

Will Hartley’s role as a series regular in this new primetime show affect his role on the number one daytime soap opera? We will all have to stay tuned to find out. In the meantime as we await a premiere date you can tune in weekdays to CBS to catch Hartley as Adam Newman on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Adam and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will be renewing their vows soon and this is not an episode to miss.

So Y&R fans what do you think of this news? Do you think this will affect Hartley’s role as Adam Newman? Would you like to see him do both shows full time?
