‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Hunter King Upped To Primetime Series Regular, Dropped To Recurring On ‘Y&R’

‘The Young And The Restless’ spoilers tease that Summer Newman has been dropped to recurring status in lieu of her primetime gig.  Some good news in for ‘Life in Pieces’ fans though, Hunter King has been upped to series regular for season 2 of the CBS sitcom. According to Deadline, King who recurred on season 1 of the comedy series as Clementine, has gotten a major promotion for the upcoming season.

King joins other cast members which include; James Brolin, Colin Hanks, Dianne Wiest, Holly J. Barrett, Thomas Sadoski, Zoe Lister-Jones, Dan Bakkedahl, Angelique Cabral, Betsy Brandt and Giselle Eisenberg. Deadline reports that the series is about “one big happy (and messy) family and their sometimes awkward, often hilarious and ultimately beautiful milestone moments.”

Creator of the CBS series, Justin Adler, described King’s promotion as exciting. He said it’s rare to have a dramatic actress excel at comedy and added that from day one, King felt like a member of their family that they could not be more excited to make it official.

What does this mean for her Y&R role? King has played the role of Summer Newman since 2012 on contract. But now Deadline is reporting that due to her promotion on the primetime series she has been bumped to recurring on Y&R.  It looks like we will be seeing a lot less of her in Genoa City. Does this mean the developing relationship between Summer and Luca [Miles Gaston Villanueva] will be dissolved soon? Will they continue to see each other as we see Summer from time to time?
