‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Casting Call For New ‘Y&R’ Character Named Shawn – Who Is She?

‘The Young And The Restless’ spoilers tease that the CBS soap is searching for a new character and has sent out a casting call for the role of ‘Shawn.’  Generally soap opera casting calls aren’t too detailed – unless the character is significant in upcoming storylines.  So, whoever Shawn is, it looks like she could be an integral addition to Genoa City in upcoming weeks.

According to ‘The Young And The Restless’ spoilers from Soap Opera Digest – Shawn is a female character in her older teens.  The official casting call describes Shawn as, “from an all American working class background. She is pretty, yet extremely practical.”  

‘The Young And The Restless’ casting call really has us stumped.  The teen scene in Genoa City is pretty much non-existent.  Summer, Noah, and Fen have grown up – and are in their 20’s now – and the only other “kids” in Genoa City are Faith’s age or younger.  And, let’s be honest – there aren’t too many “working class” families on the daytime drama.  Of course, Shawn could be linked to the latest new character in Genoa City – Natalie (Mara McCaffray).
