‘The Young and the Restless’ News: Alyvia Alyn Lind Stars In ‘An American Girl Story – MaryEllen’

‘The Young and the Restless’ Alyvia Alyn Lind is starring in ‘An American Girl Story – Maryellen 1955: Extraordinary Christmas.’ The Amazon original special premieres Friday, November 25.

Alyvia is excited about the premiere and shared a pic on Instagram. “Thank you @americangirlbrand & @amazon for an amazing day American Girl: Maryellen-Premiering November 25th on Amazon! Styled by @udtfashion.”

Amazon offers this synopsis of the ‘American Girl’ Christmas special: “It’s Christmas, 1955 in Daytona Beach, FL, and middle child Maryellen longs to stand out amidst the hustle and bustle of her big family. When Benji, a family friend afflicted with polio comes to stay with them, Maryellen is intent on making the holiday special. After her plans for a big celebration fall through, she discovers the best gifts are often simple, meaningful gestures of friendship.”

Mary McCormack stars as Kay Larkin, Maryellen’s mother. Maryellen’s siblings include older sisters Joan [Madison Lawlor], Carolyn [Jessica Belkin], and younger sister Beverly [Noelle E. Parker] and younger brother Tom [Jax Daniel Morgan].

Maryellen asks her mother if she is different because she had polio. Kay Larkin reminds her young daughter that she was never like everyone else. Maryellen’s siblings all have special talents that make them stand out.

Caroline is an accomplished piano player and Beverley is an excellent dancer. Joan is very smart and little Tom can play the drums. But what is Maryellen’s talent? “What do I do?” the young girl asks her mother. “Wouldn’t it be great to be known for something meaningful,” Kay asks Maryellen.

And so begins Maryellen’s journey to find a meaningful mission. She begins visiting children in the polio ward at the local hospital. She wants to do something special for them, but a doctor tells her that’s against the rules. But that isn’t going to stop Maryellen from making the children’s Christmas extraordinary.
