‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Alum Jeff Branson Joins Cast Of ‘Supergirl’

‘The Young and the Restless’ alum Jeff Branson just landed a huge new prime-time gig on CBS’s wildly popular new comic-inspired superhero drama ‘Supergirl.’  Y&R fans most likely recognize Branson from his role on the CBS soap opera as Ronan Malloy.  He also played the part of Jonathan Lavery on ‘All My Children’ and Shayne Lewis on ‘Guiding Light.’

Jeff took to Twitter to make the exciting announcement and tweeted this message out to his followers, “Could not be more excited to be part of the @supergirlcbs world! Feb 22nd everyone. #Supergirl.”  According to a report from Soap Opera Digest, Branson was cast in the role of “Master Jailer.”  His original air date is February 22nd, it is unclear as of right now how many episodes the ‘Y&R’ alum will be appearing on.

Branson appeared on ‘The Young and the Restless’ from 2010-2012, and since leaving the show he has kept himself busy with a ton of guest roles on some pretty high-profile shows like ‘NCIS,’ ‘The Mentalist,’ ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Chosen,’ ‘NCIS: Los Angeles,’ ‘CSI,’ and many more.  Jeff also has a TV movie in production right now called ‘Party Monsters’ – which is set to be released some time in 2016.
