‘The Young And The Restless’ Interview: Sean Carrigan And Melissa Ordway Dish On Wedding Day, Behind The Scenes Details

Melissa Ordway and Sean Carrigan just starred in Stitch and Abby’s big TV wedding on ‘The Young And The Restless.’  Not only was it packed full of drama and soapy wedding shenanigans – but it was also a monumental moment for the ‘Y&R’ actors, it was both Melissa and Sean’s first major TV wedding as the bride and groom.  Apparently in soap land, that’s a huge deal.  CBS sat down with Sean Carrigan and Melissa Ordway and they dished on the behind the scenes action and their thoughts on Abby and Sean’s wedding day.

Aside from you know Abby’s mother Ashley Abbott passing out in the middle of the ceremony and nearly calling the big day of because she feared her future husband was in love with her mother – ‘Y&R’ fans envied Abby’s beautiful wedding, especially her dress.  Melissa Ordway revealed that Abby’s wedding wasn’t much different than her dream wedding and real life wedding in 2014.  Ordway dished, “It [her dream wedding] would be a lot like how the wedding turned out—a lot of sparkle, lots of bling, just elegant.”  She also praised the ‘Y&R‘ set designers.

Sean Carrigan nearly got cold feet in real life when it came time for him to shoot the big wedding scenes.  The actor confessed that he felt a lot of pressure since it was his first TV wedding.  Apparently, Peter Bergman didn’t help matters any behind the scenes.  The funny ‘Y&R‘ star revealed “You know, you look back at the wedding guests, and you see some of these legends of daytime television who are in the audience, and it was very overwhelming … It was an incredible experience, to say the least.”
