‘The Young And The Restless’ Interview: Jason Thompson Discusses New Role Of Billy Abbott And Playing A ‘Bad Boy’

‘The Young And The Restless‘ star Jason Thompson sat down with ET Canada on the set of the CBS daytime drama to discuss his new gig as Billy Abbott.  Thompson recently left ABC’s ‘General Hospital‘ (as Dr. Patrick Drake) to take on the complex role of Billy Abbott after Burgess Jenkins resigned.  Jenkins went in to a coma as Billy Abbott – and when the character miraculously awoke in his hospital bed, it was Jason Thompson.

Thompson was literally beaming during his chat with ET Canada while on the ‘Y&R’ set – his excitement about playing the past of Billy Abbott was evident.  The soap star is definitely not regretting his decision to transition from ‘General Hospital’ to the CBS soap opera, and he raved about how much fun he is having in Genoa City.

Jason dished to Entertainment Tonight, “It just feels really nice to have a new voice and a new character, and new people to kind of mix it up with so that i can continue to learn.  I’ve already learned a lot just from working with this people.”  The new ‘Y&R‘ cast member also discussed his take on the character of Billy Abbott – and how he plans to balance playing the “Bad Boy” with a “good heart.”
