Jack (Peter Bergman) still needs more time on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But he’s beginning to thaw, as viewers have recently seen. Meanwhile, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) believes that if she plays it cool and remains consistent ‘Phack’ Part III could be seen again in daytime.
An interesting interaction with Neil (Kristoff St. John) furthered Jack’s ongoing emotional recovery story this week. Mr. Winters wants Mr. Abbott to reestablish the Abbott-Winters foundation.

Jack had been reluctant to do so when previously asked, as he’d convinced himself that a hardline stance toward life in general was best. Time has allowed his wounds to begin healing and one sign of that progress includes Jack now strongly considering working with Neil again.
As Christmas 2016 draws closer in Genoa City, Jack also continues to inch forward on a personal basis. His reaction to the ‘Phlly’ reveal was fully justified.
However he’s also offered measured degrees of compassion where Phyllis is concerned. He appears to still love this woman and therefore has retained her services at Jabot.
Fans who believe that Jack was forced to keep Phyllis on the payroll, in response to her divorce counteroffer, aren’t wrong. But that group also knows that Jack avoided legal input about that demand because he wanted to keep Phyllis around. Jack divorced ‘Red’ rather rapidly, while at the same time maintaining regular contact with her through their reformed work relationship. Both parties have continued to play this game smartly.

Television fans of a certain age, or younger viewers who appreciate light-hearted humor, know that the Heat Miser reference comes from the classic 1974 Rankin/Bass stop motion animation Christmas special ‘The Year Without Santa Claus’. A hilarious disagreement and subsequently arranged resolution between Mother Nature’s (Rhoda Mann) two children, Heat Miser (George S. Irving) and Cold Miser (Dick Shawn), served as the storyline for this all-time classic Christmas special. Freeform (formerly The ABC Family Channel) annually airs this show, along with many others, throughout the month of December.
