‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ News: Obba Babatunde Starring In Primetime Series, Is Julius Staying On ‘B&B?’

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Obba Babatunde (Julius Avant) has a new project in the works, but fans can relax, he’ll still appear on the Bell family’s daytime drama.  I mean, who else would the Avant women have to beef with if Julius weren’t around?

According to CBS Soaps In Depth, Babatunde has a role in the new Showtime series, “I’m Dying Up Here.” Jim Carrey is the show’s producer, so you know it has to be a comedy!

In fact, the show is described as a dark comedy. “I’m Dying Up Here,” films in Los Angeles, which makes it convenient for Babatunde to go back and forth between it and the L.A. based B&B. 

Babatunde is quoted as saying that TPTB, “worked it out where we can all work together to make (both projects) happen.”

The new series examines the stand-up comedy circuit, with Babatunde playing a talent manager.  In addition to Babatunde, another soap vet, Melissa Leo, (Linda All My Children) will star in, “I’m Dying Up Here.”

Leo is set to portray a no-nonsense club owner who loves her comedians nonetheless.

Bold viewers haven’t seen much of Julius recently, he must be playing with his putter on the golf course! But Papa Avant would do well to make a special appearance right about now.

Both of his daughters could use some fatherly advice, and maybe even some tough love. Maya Avant Forrester (Karla Mosley) and husband Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) recently asked her sister Nicole (Reign Edwards) to be their surrogate for a second time.

Young Nicole agreed to help them but lost her boyfriend Zende (Rome Flynn) as a result. Now both sisters are trying to figure out how to deal with the aftermath of Nicole’s decision.  Wouldn’t it be nice to see the head of the Avant family bring some comfort and solace to the sisters?
