The soap opera ratings for the week of January 4th-8th are in – and there is great news for ‘Days Of Our Lives’ fans. The NBC soap opera ratings were on a steady decline since the death of iconic character Bo Brady (Peter Reckell), but they are finally on the upswing, according to Soap Opera Network. Check out how your favorite soap faired in the ratings department below!
Days Of Our Lives
According to the ratings report, ‘Days Of Our Lives‘ brought in 2,914,000 viewers for the week of January 4th – which is a two year high for the NBC soap opera. ‘DOOL’ was up 73,000 in the key women 18-49 demo, and they actually beat out ABC soap opera ‘General Hospital‘ in that category – which is a huge accomplishment. They also improved across the boards in all the other age groups. It looks like ‘Days’ is finally coming out of their ratings slump!
The Young And The Restless
‘The Young And The Restless‘ soap ratings for the week of January 4-8 reveal that the CBS soap opera actually lost 184,000 viewers in comparison to the prior week – but they are still up more than 200,000 viewers than they were at this time last year. As always, ‘Y&R‘ dominated across the ratings board – and their numbers continue to appear solid. Although, they did lose over 70,000 viewers total in the key ratings demos.
The Bold And The Beautiful
According to Soap Opera Network, ‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ had a rough week in the ratings department. The CBS soap is apparently not appealing to ‘B&B’ fans as much as it was last month – over all the daytime drama lost 142,000 viewers. In the key demo for daytime drama, women ages 18-49 the CBS soap opera dropped 30,000 viewers from last week and is down 71,000 from this time last year. Despite the decline, ‘Bold’s’ ratings remain solid.
General Hospital
Sadly, ‘General Hospital‘ was the biggest loser of all in the week of January 4-8. The ratings report is revealing that the popular ABC soap opera is steadily losing viewers week by week, and they dropped 223,000. On the up side they may be losing viewers, but they are still doing better than they were during January of 2015. And, although they are down overall viewers – ‘GH‘ is holding steady in the women 18-49 demo.
