Soap Opera Weekly Ratings March 21-25: ‘GH’ Up – ‘Y&R’, ‘B&B’ & ‘DOOL’ Ratings Down In Women 18-49

The soap opera weekly ratings for March 21 through March 25 show ‘The Young and the Restless,’ ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ and ‘General Hospital’ total viewers are up and ‘Days of Our Lives’ ratings continue to plummet.

Even though ‘Y&R’ and ‘B&B’ ratings were up in the total numbers watching the CBS soap operas continue to lose viewers in the women 18-49 demographic as reported by Soap Opera Network. ‘Days of Lives’ also lost viewer in this category. ‘General Hospital’ gained back women viewers 18-49 for the week of March 21-25.

Days of Our Lives

Soap Opera Network reports that 2,185,000 total viewers tuned in to watch ‘DAYS.’ This is a loss of 49,000 total viewers for the week. For this week 389,000 women ages 18 to 49 demographic watched ‘DOOL.’ This represents a loss of 2,000 for the week of March 21-25. The loss of women viewers 18-49 is a new low for ‘DOOL’ for the second straight week.

General Hospital

Total views for ‘GH’ were up – 2,866,000 total viewers were watching last week. That is a gain of 18,000 viewers over the previous week. When it comes to women in the 18-49 category the soap had 475,000 viewers. That’s an increase of 6,000 is this demographic and ‘GH’ is the only soap to gain women viewers 18-49 last week.

The Bold and the Beautiful

The daytime drama was preempted March 14-18 for NCAA Basketball and showed a significant loss of viewers across the board that week. With no preemptions to affect ratings “B&B” was seen by 3,635,000 viewers. This represents a gain of 78,000 total viewers. However, 485,000 women ages 18 to 49 tuned in and that is a loss of 4,000 viewers in that very important demographic. The loss of women viewers in the women 18-49 demographic represents tie for the new low.

The Young and the Restless

Just as ‘B&B’ was preempted for NCAA Basketball, so was ‘Y&R’ and had a major drop in viewers that week. The daytime drama bounced back in total viewers for the week of March 21-25 – 4,724,000 people tuned in. This represents a gain of 29,000 viewers. But when it came to women ages 18 to 49 the soap had 620,000 viewers and that means 10,000 viewers in this demographic weren’t watching last week. The loss of women viewers in the 18-49 demographic is a new low for ‘Y&R.’|
