‘One Life to Live’ News: Fans Fighting To Get OLTL back – 5 Years After Cancellation & 4 Years After Last Episode Aired

In 2011 Prospect Park announced the cancellation of two dearly loved ABC soaps, “All My Children” (AMC) and “One Life to Live” (OLTL). Fans rallied hard to bring their soaps back and won for a soap opera minute. Prospect Park made a deal with ABC that “General Hospital” could cross over characters from “OLTL” to GH. ABC started killing off these characters owned by Prospect Park sparking a lawsuit against ABC.
The outrage after the “OLTL” cancellation is very understandable considering ABC pulled the plug on a soap that was beating “AMC”, “GH” and “Days of Our Lives” by thousands. “OLTL” continued to grow by large numbers in all demographics even after ABC announced they were cancelling the popular Daytime Soap. In 2011 “OLTL” was the third most watched Soap on television with 2.762 million viewers easily beating out all other soap with the exception of two.
In 2013 The Soap world was devastated once again by the final nail in the coffin of “OLTL” and “AMC” the network cut the number of episodes from 4 to 2 then eventually pulled the plug despite the higher ratings “OLTL” was pulling in. Fans have never and will never get over this travesty.
The loyalty of the fans has been unwavering, they have been steadfast in their fight to get their favorite soaps back. It is 2016 and the wound of losing “OLTL” and “AMC” has not healed. As a matter of fact the fans take every opportunity to try to breathe life into them in any way possible by starting petitions and writing to the networks tirelessly. The latest petition found on social media is asking Netflix to pick up “OLTL”. If Netflix is interested they could buy the rights to these ABC soaps saving “AMC” and “OLTL” while giving Prospect Park more money to pursue their lawsuit against ABC.

I would watch them any way I could on any network, any medium for any amount of time. I watched those soaps my entire adult life and most of my childhood; I was very sad to see them go and still have conversations about them today.
OLTL was the best soap opera with the best actors!! I loved that show and still miss it!! Would be great to have it back!!!

I would love to see Netflix to pick up these two soaps. I had 3 favorite soaps, they were”ALL MY CHILDREN”, “ONE LIFE TO LIVE”and”GENERAL HOSPITAL”. Please make this possible, and have it the way they used to be with the same characters. And same story line. Would absolutely love this. Thank you.
Whatever works to bring them back. There are sorely missed! The junk they have on ABC now is an insult to all the fans that were so loyal to the network. Still watch General Hospital faithfully, but that is it for daytime shows. It is too bad.
I would love for One Life To Live to come back. Even as reruns.

I would love for One Life To Live to return , but for it to return back to network television on ABC. I started watching the soap in the 1980s until the very end. ABC didn,t have any reason whatsoever to cancel a wonderful show and made a huge mistake on caneling it! I,m doing all I can as I fight for its return back on TV and not the internet , so it can get the plug pulled on it again which was terriblly stupid! There,s a massive boycott against Disney/ABC TV for the cancellation , and the replacement shows they put in place FAILED BECAUSE OF THE BOYCOTT.IF ABC knows what,s best for them , they would bring it back , before the network goes extinct.

That show was growing in ratings its numbers were climbing and ABC cancelling it was a deep travesty!

All the good characters are on GH and other shows. It’s been off too long doesn’t make a difference. I won’t watch I have YR OLTL and GH. They are all great shows

Please help us get One Life to LIVE and AMC back. ABC should bring it back because some people cannot afford cable or internet service but if not, I sure hope Netflix picks it up.
ABC pulled a big boner when they cancelled OLTL to make room for Katie Couric’s talk show studio. Look how long she lasted!! Bring back our soap!!
I don’t have netflix, but if they were to pick up those soaps, and bring them back…I would DEFINITELY get it!! As a sidenote…NO show is going to have the ratings that they once did, because things are different now. There were only a few networks when these soaps started, so they had a TON of viewers back then. Well, now…that can’t be, because there are SOOOO many networks, and sooooo many shows. Take it for what it is! Just because a show doesn’t have as many viewers as before, doesn’t mean that it’s a BAD SHOW…. It’s just means that there are just as many shows, as there are viewers. BRING OUR SOAPS BACK, PLEASE!!! Ok, rant over, lol!!

Only if the writing what Ron Carlivati had planned could be realized and everything Prospect Park did was eliminated, especially writing that Victor was Todd’s twin.
