‘Nashville’ Season 5 Spoilers: Will Chase Returns To Nashville Cast As Rayna’s Ex-Fiance Luke Wheeler

Nashville spoilers for season five tease that Rayna Jaymes [Connie Britton] ex-fiancé Luke Wheeler [Will Chase] has returned, but not for long. As previously reported Layla Grant [Aubrey Peeples] and Luke have been written out.

Luke may have some final business with Rayna though. Previous Nashville spoilers for season 5 indicate that there are a few loose ends Luke and Layla need to tie up. That means Nashies may see the singers return for a few episodes.

Will Chase sparked even more speculation about Luke’s possible return when he tweeted a pic of his Rayna tattoo. “Poor Rayna. On one day. Off the next,” Chase wrote as it appeared the large tattoo of a broken chain, spear and Rayna’s name was being removed.

Adding to the mystery, Chris Carmack [Will Lexington] tweeted a photo also. Carmack and Chase are smiling and Carmack wrote, “It’s always a good day opening up for Luke Wheeler!” Nashies want to know – is Luke back in town for good or is this his last hurrah?

Nashville spoilers for season 5 have indicated that Connie Britton may have signed on for only 10-episodes of the show as it moves to CMT. It’s possible that Luke has returned, will cause problems in Rayna and Deacon Claybourne’s [Charles Esten] and then leave town with Rayna.

If Aubrey Peeples is returning to Nashville for season 5 there hasn’t been any spoiler information regarding how Layla will be written out of the show.

Nashville has found a new home on CMT after ABC canceled the series for financial reasons. A 2-hour premiere on Thursday, January 5 will welcome Nashville to its new network.
