‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Accepts Kristina – Parker Writes Goodbye Note, Is She Done With Kristina?

Today, on “General Hospital” we saw how Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) really feels about his daughter Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Lexi Ainsworth) fluid sexuality. No one knew for sure how he was going to react because we have seen on several occasions that he doesn’t take kindly to those who betray him. But was this really a betrayal towards him, or just a scared daughter afraid of what her father might think or do? Honestly, if your father was the most powerful mobster around, would you be confident enough in his love for you to confide in him?

It turns out that Sonny is far more accepting than Kristina could ever realize. You could see the fear in her eyes when she was asking him if he could accept having a gay daughter. He hesitated at first and told her it was a lot to process and even asked her about Aaron Roland (John DeLuca). Kristina told her dad that on the surface she had a great connection with him, but she shared a connection with Parker Forsyth (Ashley Jones) she has never felt before. Sonny and her mother, Alexis Davis-Jerome (Nancy Lee Grahn) both shared concerns about Parker both being much older and her professor. They both felt that this was not a good relationship for Kristina to be in, but she insisted that her parents let her figure this out on her own.

Sonny and Kristina’s conversation was very intimate and very telling. Sonny tells her that he knows gay people, and she thought he meant Lucas and Brad, but Sonny was able to share stories with her about people he grew up with in Bensonhurst who were gay and he had no problem with them. He also has been very open minded and loving to his brother-in-law, Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes); never implying that he had a hard time with his sexuality either. So with love in his eyes and heart, he asked Kristina to ask him again if he was accepting of her. When she asked he said “Of course”, she is his daughter after all!!

Now it remains to be seen if he will respect her privacy and her decisions as an adult, or will he step in like Alexis did today and interfere? The last moments today, we saw Parker writing Kristina a “Goodbye” letter. Is this the end of their journey together, or will Kristina fight for Parker?
