‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Morgan’s Death Pushes Sonny to Go the Darkest He Has Ever Gone!

‘General Hospital’ (GH) sources are revealing that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may have hit the point of no return! Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) has been a dear friend and pillar to lean on in tough times before, even being his protector when no one else was there; but things have changed between the two and Sonny is feeling desolate and terrifyingly alone.

When it was discovered that a car bomb meant for Sonny’s arch-enemy Julian Jerome (William DeVry) killed Sonny’s son, Morgan (Bryan Craig) instead, Sonny’s heart sank. Sonny isn’t just having to deal with the grief of losing a child in such a tragic way, he is also racked with guilt because he cannot find out if Morgan died at his own hands. Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) shoved the dagger even deeper into Sonny’s heart when she didn’t even think twice before packing up her and her daughter, Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) things and abandoning Sonny at a time when they both should have been leaning on each other.

GH’s Carly knows her husband, and she knew that it would be nearly impossible to stop Sonny from seeking vengeance on Julian after the justice system failed once again. Carly knew Sonny had put out a ‘hit’ on Julian, and she also knew that he canceled the hit, but neither of them knows 100% whether the contractor was able to stop what was already placed in motion; because even he has disappeared. Guilt and resentment is coming from all sides and right now Carly cannot even look at the love of her life, without seeing her ‘sweet little boy’ dead!

With Morgan’s funeral approaching, things are going from bad to worse. Sonny is literally drowning in his sorrows, and although Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier) has begged every family member to step up and help Sonny, no one is stepping forward to take care of him. Sonny believes Carly will never forgive him, and he is sure there is no way they can recover from this.

His son, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is a detective working for the PCPD, and he is pursuing his father, determined to punish him for killing his brother; and his other son Michael (Chad Duell) is fighting his own demons when it comes to Morgan’s death. The only person who is at Sonny’s side is Jason. Jason and Carly have been there many times to help Sonny through his bipolar manic episodes, but this one is different, and much deeper…. maybe even too deep!

Jason takes it upon himself to bring this news to Carly, but she doesn’t want to think of Sonny, nor does she want to hear how sad, depressed and guilty he feels. Carly has made her stance very well known among the people in their lives, but even in her grief, she acknowledges that there is more to the grand gesture Sonny had just made to the foundation created for kids like Morgan.

Once Sonny is home, he is on the phone with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), a conversation Nelle overhears. It definitely sounds like Sonny is making sure his family is taken care of after he is gone. When he realizes that Nelle overheard the phone call, he swears her to secrecy until after the funeral. With Sonny being so depressed, and no one being able to reach him mentally, is it possible he was talking about killing himself?

It wouldn’t be so far-fetched to fans who have been watching this week when he was on the bridge and ready to shoot himself. Dr. Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberly McCullough) was able to talk him down at that moment, but now he is back to being completely alone, and the silence can be deafening when depression becomes unbearable. He has mentioned that this will happen after the funeral, do you think anyone will be able to stop him once the service is done, and if so, who do you think will be the one to pull him out of the depths of despair he is in now?
