‘General Hospital’ Spoilers : Jason and Samantha “Happily Ever After” Finally Happens!

This ‘General Hospital’ (GH) couple have been more “off” than “on”, but you cannot help but celebrate in their reunion. Samantha McCall Morgan (Kelly Monaco) and Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) returned after being held captive at Cassadine Island in Greece. When all the captives came home, they had to be tested for Malaria, among other things.

Thankfully no one had it, but it didn’t explain why Sam was feeling queasy and fainting a few times. True to Soap Opera story-telling, this was a sign of her being pregnant. Are JaSam, as they are fondly referred to by fans, finally going to have their happy ending; a new baby and a fresh start?

General Hospital fans of Jason and Sam will be quite happy to see these two take the plunge this week, and marry again. Jason’s best friend, Carly (Laura Wright) is over the moon hosting their wedding at the home she shares with her husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). We saw recently that they had divorced, not because there was no love, but because Jason still didn’t have his memories back and Sam didn’t want him stuck in a marriage, he didn’t remember.

Through many trials and tribulations, Jason and Sam marry in September 2011 in a very non-traditional way. After both of them are overwhelmed with wedding plans, they escape on Jason’s motorcycle and end up at a Chinese restaurant, and have the most untraditional wedding ever. Robert Yi marries them in the restaurant garden, and here are the words he used:

“Jason, you stand beneath the symbol of the dragon. Sam, you stand beneath the symbol of the phoenix. For the union between a bride and a groom is the union between phoenix and the dragon. The dragon, the symbol of strength, can scare off evil spirits, protect the innocent, bless those around him with safety, and bring wealth to those who hold his emblem. The phoenix, goddess of all winged creatures, harvests luck, success, and prosperity. She can turn bad luck into good. Together, the phoenix and the dragon are the ultimate sign of yin and yang. Male, female. Strength and beauty. Alone, they bring happiness, but together, they bring double happiness.”

General Hospital’s Sam was engaged to Dr. Patrick Drake (then Jason Thompson), but the second she found out that Jason was alive, their relationship ended and Patrick reunited with the love of his life and mother of his daughter, Dr. Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough). Jason was back and would finally be able to see his son, Danny. The son he didn’t know was his when he “died” on the pier in 2014.

GH actress, Kelly Monaco talks about preparing for the wedding scenes and reveals that this wedding is completely different than their first wedding, and they say their own vows. Who is looking forward to these lovebirds finally reuniting officially? Kelly adds, that they knew they were not going to be super traditional because Sam and Jason are not like that. She did, however, collaborate on the gown. She explains that she did research and fell in love with the dress Elizabeth Taylor worn in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
