‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: ‘GH’ Writers Dish On Sonny Corinthos And Jason Morgan Bromance – Rekindled By Jason’s Memories

‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that Jason Morgan’s (Billy Miller) memories returning will change his life in many ways – including his relationship with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) which has been strained since he came back from the dead.

Although Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) showed up to warn Jason that his memories would fade again, it looks like the old bat was wrong and Jason’s recovered remembrances will stick. He’s already rekindled things with Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco), but this will deepen their bond.

And according to GH scribe Jean Passanante, Sonny and Jason will see a profound change in how they relate. Passanante told TVLine, “Remembering everything gives him [Jason] the history he felt but couldn’t fully understand until now.”

This is important because it’s killing Sonny that Jason keeps rejecting him. Most of their interactions end with Jason chafed and walking out because he thinks Sonny is trying to lure him back into the mob life of violence that he now hates.

But don’t look for Jason’s recovered memories to send him rushing back to the mob or signing up to be the Corinthos cartel enforcer again. Co-writer Shelly Altman told TVLine, “Jason will want to reach out to him [Sonny] in a way he hasn’t been able to since his return.”

Jason knows that he’s dangerous but doesn’t know his track record of kills and violence from the time BEFORE he was Jake Doe. Once all the memories sink in, Jason will realize just how high the body count is and will not want to ever go down that path again.

However, it looks like Jason will renew his bond with Sonny, just not the employment relationship. These two have a deeply entangled rich history that will mean a lot to Jason once he thinks back on their shared past.

Shelly Altman also told TVLine that Jason “will need to follow a different path from the one he once followed” but the writers also teased that Jason might need Sonny’s help when a danger from his violent past resurfaces.

Beyond that, though, it begs the question of what Jason will do with his life. Did his actions at the accident scene foretell a return to medical school? Remember how Jason adeptly triaged Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and the driver?

He diagnosed one dead then began life saving steps for the one he could save. It was pretty impressive stuff. It would be a lot of fun if Jason went back to medical school and followed in the footsteps of his parents. Paging Dr Stone Cold…

But, for now, we can expect Jason to put in the effort to reconcile his past, now that he’s recovered his memories, with the new life he’s carved out for himself and decide where to go from there. But we can bet Sonny will be thrilled to have his BFF back even if Jason is out of the mob life for good.
