As it stands right now, Morgan was in the midst of a manic episode, thanks to Ava Jerome (Maura West), who had switched his bipolar medication to a placebo, when he stole Julian Jerome’s (William DeVry) car to escape Port Charles and all his demons. Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) was able to calm him down enough to pull the car over and talk to him, but as Morgan exited the car, there was an explosion, knocking Morgan and the car off a cliff into the ravine and water below.
Mere days after Bryan Craig announced his exit from the sow, a casting call was made for a contract role for someone who sounded very similar like Morgan, Sonny’s bipolar son. Since there was no body recovered at the explosion site, it gave fans hope. At one point it was believed that Joey Lutham would take over the role.
Some fans may recognize him since this wouldn’t be his first time on General Hospital. He appeared on the show last year, as a young Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). Joey Luthman responded to the rumors, “I don’t think the rumors are true”, and even though the powers that be usually don’t respond to rumors, a General Hospital rep insists that there are no plans to recast the role of Morgan “at this time.”
