‘General Hospital’ POLL: Who Was The Best Man For GH Sabrina? VOTE!

Patrick Drake: From the very first time Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) stepped out of the elevator onto the 10^th floor Nurses’ Station (in 2012) and her eyes fell on Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), she was a ‘goner’. She fell instantly, and hopelessly, in love. All she could think about, and dream about, was finding a way to have him see her and return her feelings. But, Dr. Drake was a widower, and according to Felix DuBois (Marc Samuel), he was not looking to fall in love again… at least any time soon.

Much to Sabrina’s surprise, things with Dr. Drake started to turn around and soon Sabrina found out she was pregnant with Patrick’s child and the couple started planning their wedding. Due to a car accident, though, Sabrina went into premature labor, causing their son, Gabriel, to be born too soon. The couple still went ahead with their plans, and just as they were about to say “I do”… Emma Scorpio-Drake (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) spotted Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) at the back of the church and ran down the aisle screaming, “Mommy! Mommy!” This event put an immediate stop to the wedding… and soon after, Patrick and Sabrina’s infant son passed away. Sabrina went into a severe depression and left Port Charles to return to family in Puerto Rico [which was when Teresa gave birth to her real-life baby daughter].

Patrick now resides in Berkley, California with his wife, Robin Scorpio-Drake, and his daughter, Emma Scorpio-Drake.

Carlos Rivera:  Much older than Sabrina, Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) has always carried a torch for his “querida” Sabrina, since she was 16. He followed her from Puerto Rico to Port Charles (2013) and was always showing up in her life at the most inopportune moments. It was as if he was stalking her, constantly. He always showed up like the proverbial ‘bad penny’ causing mayhem with his insane jealousy and his wish to control her. He tried to come between Sabrina and Patrick, but that didn’t work and he soon left Port Charles and returned to Puerto Rico.

When Sabrina had come out of mourning for Gabriel, and returned to Port Charles, it wasn’t long before Carlos followed her and resumed his stalking of Sabrina. But once again, he was unlucky in love as Sabrina had been hired on to become Avery Jerome-Corinthos’ nanny when Michael Quartermaine-Corinthos III (Chad Duell) was awarded sole custody after an epic court battle between Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Michael’s father, Michael “Sonny” Corinthos, II (Maurice Benard) almost came to physical blows – in court over who was the most fit parent!

Carlos worked for Ava Jerome and her brother Julian Jerome (William DeVry) as a lackey in the Jerome (Crime family) Organization. Julian gave orders to Carlos to kill Sonny’s Enforcer, Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan) because he wanted to get the holdings that Sonny controlled back into Jerome hands. Carlos shot Duke in the garage of the Metro Court Hotel and Duke headed for the docks where he was to meet up with Anna Devane Scorpio-Lavery (Finola Hughes) and together, they were going to leave Port Charles and go off to live in Scotland together. Sadly, Duke succumbed to his bullet wound and died on the dock, in Anna’s arms as they waited for an ambulance.

Once again, Carlos was a wanted man… but this time… it wasn’t only Sonny who wanted him, and wanted him dead; it was Anna Lavery, from the WSB (World Security Bureau) and former Police Commissioner of Port Charles. He knew he’d be dead by morning, or before, if he was found. He ran to Sabrina and forced her to let him stay the night, promising her he’d leave before sun up. In the morning, Carlos tied Sabrina up to a chair, gagged her and left her in her apartment for the Police to find, as he once again, fled the jurisdiction and back to Puerto Rico and safety.

Michael Quartermaine-Corinthos III: Michael (Chad Duell) is the biological son of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and A. J. Quartermaine (Billy Warlock) and has been raised by Carly and Sonny (Maurice Benard) all his life. Sabrina loved taking care of Michael’s baby sister, Avery, and cared for her as she would any child that had been placed in her care. Sabrina and Michael began getting close and Sabrina was soon able to convince Michael that he should return Avery to Sonny. Or, if he was willing, let Sonny have custody of her. He is, after all, Avery’s father. Michael agrees, and he and Sabrina begin to gather Avery’s belongings and take everything over to Sonny. It is the forging and beginning of Sonny and Michael becoming close once again. They both knew the road was going to be long… but they both also knew it wouldn’t have been possible without Sabrina.

The road for Michael and Sabrina has not been an easy one… the obstacles that were thrown in their way were many, and each one invariably was caused by Carlos Rivera, trying once again, to exert pressure and control over Sabrina. But once again, Michael and Sabrina are on the way to finding their way back to each other… without, once again, the way being blocked by Carlos.
