‘General Hospital’ POLL: What Was Your Least Favorite GH Storyline In 2016? VOTE!

‘General Hospital’ (GH) had a lot of ups and downs this past year, some of them causing a lot of disagreements with the fans. What was your least favorite storyline 2016?

Longtime beloved GH character, Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) returned to Port Charles, he has gotten some of his memories back, remarried Samantha McCall (Kelly Monaco) and together they are expecting their second child together. Although it is still taking fans time to adjust to Billy Miller taking over for Steve Burton, the issue isn’t so much who is playing Jason, it is the fact that his personality has changed and he isn’t the Stone Cold Jason we have all grown to love. How do you feel about Jason’s return, was it worth the wait?

What do you think about Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier)? When Nelle arrived, no one knew what to expect from her and now that her true colors are starting to show not too many fans like her. Her drugging Sonny (Maurice Benard) and pretending they had sex together is a pretty disgusting storyline, it makes her about equal to Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) in that department. Are you enjoying this storyline, or are you sick of Nelle and her scheming?

GH’s Lulu Spencer Falconeri (Emme Rylan) has been a strong character for a long time; more and more she is proving she is Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) daughter. The storyline of her being Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) mother has potential but the way Lulu is forcing herself on Charlotte is ridiculous and making her look obsessive. Are you prepared to endure another Cassadine-Spencer war?

Another cruel story to add is Ava Jerome (Maura West) stealing Morgan Corinthos’ bipolar medications. Ava has gotten away with a lot of devastating things but this one by far is the worst. Morgan was only trying to get his life back together and attempting to build a future with Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin), Ava did not want her daughter with him. Replacing his medication with placebos is what caused all the events leading up to his death; GH fans may argue that its the bomb that killed him, but had he been on his proper meds, he never would have resorted to binge drinking and stealing Julian Jerome’s (William DeVry) car.

General Hospital has always been known as taking on cutting edge stories. This past year Kristina Davis Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth) began a relationship with a woman, Parker Forsyth (Ashley Jones), and in a blink of the eye, Kristina became involved with Aaron Roland (John DeLuca). She decided that she loved Parker, and the story disappeared as quickly as it arrived. The story would have stuck with fans more, if they continued to show Kristina struggle and come to terms with her sexuality, but it was dropped so fast, fans didn’t have a chance to invest in it.

How about the whole storyline at Cassadine Island, Greece? Nikolas Cassadine (Nick Stabile) escapes Port Charles by faking his death, he accidentally bumps into Ava Jerome (Maura West) on the plane. The two grow close and even share a kiss, only for Nikolas to be murdered by his deranged Uncle Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Ava returned to Port Charles and her connection to Nikolas was only brought up once, when his shoe showed up with the diamonds inside. It is just one more story that was dropped and forgotten.

The hardest story to watch this year, and one fans were completely shocked with was the death of sweet and beloved Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo). This just might be the storyline that is every General Hospital fans least favorite. Sabrina had just gotten to a good place in her relationship with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), her son Teddy was happy and healthy. To bring back Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi), only to make him the GH serial killer was a bit ridiculous; his killing Sabrina was probably also the most emotional scene anyone has watched in a long time.
