‘General Hospital’ News: Vanessa Marcil Teases New Gig At ABC – A Possible ‘GH’ Return, Or Something Else?

Could Vanessa Marcil be reprising the role of Brenda Barrett on ‘General Hospital’ after a three year absence? This could be the case as hinted by a photograph the actress posted via her Instagram account. Her photo shows a pad labeled The Walt Disney Company along with her name and the date being March 1^st 2016.

Due to the fact that General Hospital runs on ABC, which is owned by Disney, fans have already begun speculating that this means a Brenda Barrett return for the actress.  Fans began commenting on the photo immediately indicating their belief that this pad is a script or contract from the producers over at ‘General Hospital’.

Marcil has been on and off with the series and most recently on when she returned for the Nurse’s Ball in early April of 2013. The Ball was in honor of her dear friend Robin (Kimberly McCullough) whom at that time was presumed dead. Brenda also showed up at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) house to inform Sonny that she was engaged to Jax (Ingo Rademacher). Is it possible that things didn’t work out between her and Jax, so she returns to Port Charles? Let’s not forget, Sonny and Brenda was a popular pairing back in their day.

Sonny and Carly (Laura Wright) are currently married but experiencing marital problems due to Sonny’s lies. What if Brenda returns to reclaim Sonny’s heart? Carly certainly has not been getting any competition for Port Charles greatest mobster, could Brenda return and re-ignite a love triangle? This would certainly be interesting.
