‘General Hospital’ News: ‘Northern Exposure’ Alum Diane Delano Joins ‘GH’ Cast As Margarethe

‘General Hospital’ spoilers tease that another new face is coming to town. According to Soap Opera Digest, GH has tapped Diane Delano to play the part of Margarethe.

Delano will join Trent Dawson as his character’s assistant when he makes his debut on Monday June 13. Dawson, who many ‘As the World Turns’ fans are awaiting to see on GH, shared with SOD about his trouble with pronouncing his character assistant’s name. According to him, he reached out Jean Passanante, the show’s Co-head writer in an effort to learn the proper pronunciation. Passanante told him that she wanted it to sound similar to that of ‘Sister Margaretta’ from the song ‘How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria’.

Dawson’s character Huxley is suppose to be a very British one, which means Margarethe could be one also. But what’s rather interesting is that there is a connection teased between Maura West’s character and Dawson’s. These two stars were on ‘As the World Turns’ together, so GH will no doubt be drawing in a lot of ATWT fans. Dawson will air for a short stint as Huxley, which means Delano’s time on the ABC soap opera could be short as well.

So who is Diane Delano? Well, she is an American character actress. She had several roles on popular series such as; Nurse Jessi Glass and her twin sister Bobbi Glass on ‘Popular’, Barbara Semanski on ‘Northern Exposure’, ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’ and ‘Teen Titans’. Delano is connected to daytime through a short role she had on ‘Days of Our Lives’ when she played Hilda, an FBI agent who was hired to protect Sami Brady [Ex-Alison Sweeney].
