‘General Hospital’ News: Nicolas Bechtel Back at General Hospital! Is Spencer Cassadine Coming Back?

‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate that Nicolas Bechtel [Spencer Cassadine] was backstage at General Hospital and hanging with showrunner Frank Valentini and co-star Ryan Paevey [aka Nathan West]. Nicolas tweeted a pic of them together with the caption “My Crew #GH”

Does that mean that Spencer Cassadine will have some scenes in coming weeks? We haven’t seen Spencer in months, although GH dad Nikolas Cassadine [Tyler Christopher] has staged several phone calls to make it seem like Spencer is still in the storyline.

Nicolas Bechtel has been a busy little actor. He portrayed a young Rob Kardashian in the hit mini-series The People vs OJ Simpson on the FX network. He also landed a Disney Channel show called Stuck in the Middle. But has he found time to do some GH cameos as well?

Nikolas has mentioned Spencer several times recently and we haven’t seen the tween yet with his new stepmother Hayden Barnes [Rebecca Budig] so we definitely need an appearance from the Cassadine mini-prince soon.

Hopefully this tweet was a sign that he’s filming some episodes. GH fans have been worried lately since Josslyn Jacks [Eden McCoy] was subject to a SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) recast and then word broke that Jake Spencer was being recast and James Nigbor was let go from GH.

Fingers crossed that showrunners won’t age up Spencer too, but if Nicolas Bechtel is too busy to fill the role, that may be what they have to do at some point. Brooklyn Rae Silzer is back as Emma Drake for Spring break, so perhaps we’ll see some Emma and Spencer action.

There are some really talented kids in the younger set and it would be a shame to lose Nicolas Bechtel and Brooklyn Silzer. Fingers crossed there are not more SORAS recasts coming. What do you think GH fans? Are you hoping this tweet means that Spencer will soon be back on the scene?

Are you excited to see Spencer react positively to his new step-mom? We know he already liked Hayden, but haven’t seen them together since Hayden and Nikolas said I do and made it official. Let’s hope we see Spencer soon – he’s been missed by GH fans!
