One follower commented, “You are a wonderful dad and husband, family time is good. We love you Maurice Benard.” One grateful “GH” fan commented, “Thank you for opening your life to us…You are doing such an important service.”
A few of Maurice’s Instagram followers reached out in the comments to reveal their personal battles with mental health issues. “Enjoyed hearing from you and Paula on the Dr. Oz sow. Thank you for laying it bare,” said one person. Another reached out and expressed how important Sonny and Morgan’s [Bryan Craig] and the Corinthos family storyline has been – “The storyline on GH portrays this perfectly! Keep up the excellent work” the fan commented after explaining their own personal and terrifying struggles with mental health and those that misunderstand it.
It is important for “General Hospital” writers and producers to continue to correctly write mental health storylines. Maurice Benard is certainly a champion in so many “GH” viewers’ eyes, and now Maurice’s continuing personal journey with his family has been shared with the word.
