‘General Hospital’ News: Maurice Benard Hanging With His Pal “Pete’s Dragon” – Watch the Funny Video!

There’s only one thing that could get “General Hospital’s” Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) this fired up! It’s Disney’s new 3D movie, Pete’s Dragon!

Benard is obviously friends with the fire breathing dragon, aka Elliot, who has clearly shared his mad flaming skills. “For Pete’s sake,” he wrote on an Instagram post, alongside a hilarious vid taken using a SnapChat filter.

Benard’s fans are equally delighted with his new acting technique. “Bahahaha!!! Love this!!!,” wrote one fan. “Too funny,” and “LOL!!!!!,” were other amused responses.

Pete’s Dragon was shot on location in New Zealand. Disney describes the film as, “the adventures of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just so happens to be a dragon.”

The film with the fearsome green dragon looks sure to delight both young and older moviegoers. That’s because many parents will remember the 1977 Disney version of Pete’s Dragon, starring Mickey Rooney and Shelley Winters.

Disney describes Pete’s Dragon as a family movie heavy on fantasy and adventure. The modern version stars Bryce Dallas Howard as Grace, Robert Redford as Meacham and Oakes Fegley as Pete.  The PG movie runs 102 minutes and opens in theaters August 12.

GH fans, don’t you think Sonny wishes he had a giant fire breathing dragon body guard? (No offense Milo and Max). It would just make his life so much easier!

Can you imagine how the Port Charles villains would react if Sonny replaced his side shooter with a flame thrower? His beloved coffee warehouse would be safe from now until forever with a towering dragon patrolling the docks!
