‘General Hospital’ News – Kimberly McCullough Reveals Highs and Lows of 2015 – Pregnancy, Baby Loss, Return to GH and More

‘General Hospital’ (GH) fans love Robin Scorpio and her portrayer Kimberly McCullough. And Kimberly just posted a blog on her personal website titled “2015 Year End Wrap Up” that revealed many things about her year. We share some of those highlights here for all you GH fans.

#1 Suspected Tumor that was a cyst

Kimberly writes that she experienced numbness on the right side of her body and was living with a lot of pain. She had an MRI and found out she had a 7 ½ inch tumor in her brain! Kimberly named the it to be funny and – after a short scare – found out it was not cancer and said that it was actually a cyst and it “looks like a penis.” She shared a pic of the MRI scan and it really was peculiar looking.

#2 Baby news

Kimberly shared that she found out after the tumor scare that she was pregnant and then got the news that she was having a baby girl. But then sadly, she lost the baby. Kimberly wrote, “Losing a baby at 22 weeks is tragic” and added “My heart was so full and then it broke.” She said she’s still healing and took comfort in her rescue dog that she jokingly called her “emotional support dog.”

#3 Directing gig

Kimberly was thrilled early in 2015 when she got a call to direct an episode of Pretty Little Liars. She said, “Right there, my year was made” and that was just the beginning of her busy year. She said she watched every past episode of the hit ABC Family show to prepare for the gig and even penned some Pretty Little Liars scripts as part of her creative process.

#4 Dog’s life

In 2015, Kimberly wrote that she lost her beloved dog Melba who was 13 – that’s a very old senior citizen in dog years but then she decided to take on another rescue and found Jack – a handsome black Lab mix. She writes that Jack “knows how to charm the ladies” and added that three of her friends call her new doggie their boyfriend.

#5 GH hello and goodbye

Kimberly also writes about coming back to General Hospital for Jason Thompson’s farewell as Patrick Drake. She said of her reprisal of the role of Robin Scorpio to see Patrick and Emma Drake [Brooklyn Rae Silzer] out of Port Charles, “I’m really proud of the work we did not just this go round but over the last ten years.” Scrubs fans are still seeing this unfold and it’s great work.

Final thoughts…

Kimberly also referred to Brooklyn as “the most precious soul on the planet” and Jason as a “great friend.” GH spoilers also reveal that both Robin and Emma may return for visits, although Patrick is off the character canvas unless they recast.
