‘General Hospital’ News: Jason Thompson Interview Divulges Fate of GH Patrick, Robin and Emma

‘General Hospital’ (GH) news direct from Patrick Drake portrayer Jason Thompson divulges what will happen with the Scorpio-Drake family – and particularly with Emma Drake portrayer Brooklyn Rae Silzer. There have been conflicting reports on the fate of Emma but now we know.

The writers hinted that Emma would leave with her parents Patrick and Robin Scorpio [Kimberly McCullough], but then showrunner Nathan Varni indicated she was staying in the character canvas in Port Charles. Thompson’s revelation proves that it’s a bit of both.

In coming days, we’ll see a New Year wedding of Patrick and Robin in the early days of 2016 – likely with Emma participating in a significant manner in the wedding. Might she walk her parents down the aisle or officiate? Either way, Emma will play a big role in the renewal of her parents’ vows.

And once Robin and Patrick are hitched again, GH spoilers reveal they are heading out of town for their happily ever after as Jason Thompson leaves GH for good and heads over to ‘The Young and The Restless’ to take on the role of Billy Abbott.

GH fans wondered what would happen to Emma since she’s waited so long to have her parents together and whether showrunners could keep her in Port Charles without messing up the Scorpio-Drake happy ending story designed to give Scrubs fans closure.

Thompson revealed in an interview with Michael Fairman that Emma will leave with Robin and Patrick and will stay with her parents – out of Port Charles. However, he cushioned the blow somewhat by explaining, “I know they [showrunners] have plans to bring Brooklyn back when they can.”

Looks like Emma may visit Port Charles occasionally on what would be summer breaks from school and holidays. Let’s hope so. It would be an absolute shame if GH writers and showrunners let Brooklyn Rae Silzer slip through their fingers.

We saw them change up Josslyn Jack’s portrayer with Soap Opera Rapid Aging (SORA) syndrome and now we have Eden McCoy, in her early teens, portraying a character younger by many months than Emma. Eden is lovely but we have to wonder if they will also age the other kid characters.

For fans, it will be hard to watch Brooklyn leave GH for now, but Jason Thompson has offered hope that we’ll see her again – hopefully often. But as a character, it’s fabulous that Emma will finally have her little family back together.

We’ve seen Emma heartbroken after she lost Robin, then Sabrina Santiago [Teresa Castillo], Robin again, then Sam Morgan [Kelly Monaco]. The drama of the Sam and Patrick split and how hard Emma took the news that she was losing another mom was incredibly sad.

Brooklyn did amazing work in the heartbreaking scenes when she wailed at the loss of Sam and then cried for her mother. Let’s hope that her hard work is acknowledged with a Daytime Emmy nomination and win this year for Outstanding Younger Actress.

For now, we can enjoy the final days of Patrick, Robin and Emma in Port Charles before we see them exit and we lose Patrick for good – and Robin and Emma for the foreseeable future. Let’s hope summer break comes quickly and Emma will be back to Port Charles to visit Anna Devane [Finola Hughes] soon.
