‘General Hospital’ News: Is Jonathan Jackson Returning As Lucky Spencer After Nashville Cancellation?

“General Hospital” (GH) spoilers have set the record straight, and the news is disappointing! According to Soaps In Depth, GH favorite Jonathan Jackson will not be returning to Port Charles as the beloved Lucky Spencer.

Since the recent announcement regarding the cancellation of Nashville, rumors have been flying of Jackson’s possible return to the soap world. A rep for the soap, however, has set the record straight stating that Jackson will not be returning. It seems that if you want to see Jackson, you’ll have to see him live because he is currently on the road with his band, Enation.

The most recent role for the beloved actor/musician was of Avery Barkley on ABCs Nashville, which began in 2012. Previously, Jackson portrayed the classic character, Lucky Spencer. The role was on again and off again since 1993. Lucky is the son of legendary General Hospital couple Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis).

So it looks like Lucky fans will have to put their hope for a Lucky/ Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) reunion to rest, at least for now. Jackson does note however that his departure from General Hospital has never been negative. Who know, soaps have a way of bringing people back out of the blue, we will just have to cross our fingers.
