‘General Hospital’ News: Performer Of The Week – Lexi Ainsworth

FINALLY caught up on this week’s episodes! Who gets the spotlight this week?

Well, the choice is not an easy one so I may have to spread the love around.

Lexi Ainsworth is my first choice this week. Pass the tissues, please. Poor Kristina! Ambushed by Sonny and Alexis and forced to tell the truth about her suspension! The scene where the weight of her secret crashed in on her and left her a crying, near hysterical mess, was astounding! I must say, that was hard to watch. It’s rare to see an actor throw that much emotion into a scene, and not since little Emma’s emotional meltdown when she learned Sam and Patty were no longer together, have I been so moved by “soap opera tears”. Kudos to Lexi for delivering a very raw, very powerful, scene! I am looking forward to the fallout of the news when Sonny learns that the mysterious professor is actually a woman. I’m also looking forward to watching Kristina deal with her attraction and the question of her sexuality. With the addition of this story arc, Krissy has become a very complex, very watchable character, and Lexi’s skills as an actress have certainly grown since her last pass through Port Chuck. It promises to be an entertaining transition in both Lexi and Kristina’s growth.

A nod to Roger Howarth and Kathleen Gati! I would give up a Corinthos to see these two in an actual storyline together. Franco and Obrecht are at their best when they appear in scenes together, and the baby debacle was proof of just how well they play off each other. GH needs more of these two!

And finally a wee nod to Carolyn Hennessy. The scenes with Diane Miller weren’t numerous this week but they were memorable. Any time we get to see Diane and Alexis square off in courtroom scenes is a good time for me.
