‘General Hospital’ News: Frank Valentini Teases Something HUGE This Week On ‘GH’ – A Fan Fave Returning For ‘Fan February?’

‘General Hospital’ Executive Producer, Frank Valentini, gave fans a HUGE “Cliffhanger” on Friday, January 29^th. As we saw Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) tumbling down the basement stairs at Elizabeth Webber-Spencer’s (Rebecca Herbst) on-screen, Frank was sitting at his desk, off-screen, and tweeted out, “Huge GH News Coming Next week!! Stay tuned!”

Now, with February Sweeps and Fan February (possibly – the network has not made the official announcement yet that they are bringing back the popular campaign) upon us, speculation has been wild and furious… to say the least. We know from the past that the month of February has been known for storyline twists and surprises – and I don’t see this month being any different… with a few possible exceptions.

Last year, as Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicolas Bechtel) burn storyline drew to a close, which was also during Fan February, Spencer’s mother, Courtney Matthews Cassadine (Alicia Leigh Willis) was brought back from the grave to give Spencer some much needed motherly guidance and support in order to help him lower the “Phantom of the Opera” half-mask he had taken to wearing.  She also encouraged himto become the kind and caring young man he was capable of being… and to lose the air of the “entitled Prince” he was so fond of behaving as. Even though her on-air screen time was brief, Courtney was the one the fans had wanted to see most of all.

As soon as Frank’s tweet went out… the speculation began. Many GH fans began tweeting Frank back wondering what the news was. We didn’t want to wait! But Frank, true to his word, is making us wait!

Guesses have ranged from Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan) coming back alive and well; to hopes that Silas Clay (Michael Easton) may be returning, sans the crazy brother, Stephen Clay / Caleb Morley. There has even been speculation of a return of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) to  break up the Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) and Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) engagement… before it becomes a reality.

Frank is remaining tight-lipped and not giving any further hints out. True to his word (tweet), he’s going to make us wait!  This reporter can’t help but wonder WHO might be coming back during “Fan February”, and does his tweet have anything to do with that? Or, is his tweet related to “February Sweeps?”
