‘General Hospital’ News: Finola Hughes Taking A Break From ‘GH’

Spoilers for ‘General Hospital’ tease that Anna DeVane’s fans will be missing her for awhile, portrayer Finola Hughes is reportedly taking a break from the show. In the latest issue of the Soap Opera Digest Magazine they report that Hughes will be taking a break this summer and will be off-screen a lot.

This is not the first time Hughes is taking a break from the soap opera. Her last break was a three month leave that she took to do some directing. She was off working on the film ‘The Byrd and the Bees’ which starred her former co-star Ian Buchanan (Ex-Duke, GH).

For now there are no additional details to reveal the reason for her break – could she be possibly taking this break to direct another film?  She has been working on a super spooky looking TV pilot called ‘Cypress Bayou.’ And at this point we do not have an exact date for her last appearance before her break begins but surely Soap Opera Spy will update you as soon as this information becomes available.

Hughes is a talented actress who just earned another Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress for her role as Anna DeVane this year. She deserves this break after working so hard all year long. Anna has surely shed a lot of tears recently – from the time Duke died last year we witnessed Anna weeping, mourning and trying to avenge his death.
