‘General Hospital’ News: Curtis Joins Forces With PCPD – Romance Brewing Between Curtis And Jordan?

‘General Hospital’ (GH) fans are hoping that new character Curtis [Donnell Turner] will stick around for a while yet. The sexy newcomer already has a complicated past and we’ve barely scratched the surface. Here’s a look at what’s coming for the hot new ex-cop in town.

We first heard about Curtis compliments of Shawn Butler [Sean Blakemore] when Hayden Barnes [Rebecca Budig] came to visit Shawn at Pentonville to ask him for the truth about her shooting. Shawn sent Curtis her way to help Hayden find out the truth about her near-death incident.

Of course, Shawn knows he wasn’t aiming at Hayden but he doesn’t know who else was in play – the second gunman hired by Nikolas Cassadine [Tyler Christopher]. Sure enough, Curtis came to Port Charles to meet with Hayden and she paid him big bucks to prove she was the real target of the shooting.

We also saw that the mysterious Curtis has ties to the PCPD because he was able to get Shawn’s gun out of evidence to have it tested for ballistics. Plus, we know there’s backstory between Curtis and Jordan Ashford [Vinessa Antoine] as well – what’s that about?

Shawn and Curtis have a history – as do Shawn and Jordan – and now Curtis and Jordan as well. That’s a complicated little triangle. We also know that Curtis was once a Baltimore cop – he mentioned it to Franco [Roger Howarth] and also told him he knows he was once a wanted serial killer.

Prior to being a cop, perhaps Curtis served with Shawn in the Marines. That would certainly explain how the mob guy and former Marine knows a Baltimore cop and why Curtis would be willing to do him shady favors when it comes to Hayden.

So why isn’t Curtis a cop anymore? And was he a former lover of Jordan’s? Remember she was sleeping with Shawn at the same time she was with her husband Tommy and we found out before Shawn was sent to Pentonville that he’s TJ Ashford’s [Tequan Richmond] bio-dad.

Was Jordan shagging Tommy, Shawn and Curtis? Or did Jordan just know Curtis as a former military pal of her husband and his BFF Shawn? And even if Jordan and Curtis didn’t have a romantic past, will they have a romantic future?

We just saw Nina Clay [Michelle Stafford] offer Curtis a modeling gig – and we have to agree he’s centerfold worthy – that guy is a sexy slab of chocolate. With any luck, Curtis will stick around – at least long enough to earn a last name.

Donnell Turner told ABC Soaps in Depth that his aspirations for the character of Curtis is to be “the black Luke Spencer” and added that he watched GH growing up and that the role of Curtis was created specifically for him after they were impressed with a prior audition.

Turner had previously lost out on the part of Dr Andre Maddox to Anthony Montgomery, but it looks like he’ll get more screen time as he works with Jordan and Anna Devane [Finola Hughes] as they look into the dirty dealings of Port Charles DA Paul Hornsby [Richard Burgi].

In a way, Curtis is the perfect asset for this off-books investigation since he’s a former cop so he’s got all those detective instincts but can color outside the lines since he doesn’t work for the Port Charles PD. Whatever GH does with Curtis, we can’t wait to see.
