‘General Hospital’ News: Alum Christian Alexander Stars in Francisco Orvañanos Debut Film ‘Backgammon’ – Also Stars ‘AMC’ Alum Brittany Allen

“General Hospital” alum Christian Alexander [Kiefer Bauer] and “All My Children” alum Brittany Allen [Marissa Chandler] star in the debut film from Francisco Orvañanos “Backgammon.” The critically acclaimed psychological thriller also stars Noah Silver (Sammy Al-Fayeed, “Tyrant,” Benito Sforza, “The Borgias”).
The theatrical release for “Backgammon” will be March 11 by 3:1 Cinema and digital VOD release by Gravitas Ventures. The same day the film will be released in in New York City at Cinema Village and in Los Angeles at Laemmle’s NoHo 7. Moviegoers in Denver should look for the theatrical release of “Backgammon” on March 25 at the SIE center. A press release dated February 1 indicates more cities will be added.

“Backgammon” also stars Olivia Crocicchia (Katy Gavin, “Rescue Me”) and actor, writer and director Alex Beh. Based on the R.B. Russell’s novella “Bloody Baudelaire,” the synopsis for “Backgammon” describes the film as party psychological sexual thriller and part classic mystery.
Christian Alexander stars as Andrew, a young man who invites a slightly younger couple for a weekend getaway at a mansion. Noah Silver stars as Lucian, Olivia Crocicchia as his girlfriend Elizabeth, the young couple who are befriended by Andrew. Brittany Allen stars as Miranda, Andrew’s older sister. The weekend becomes uncomfortable when Miranda’s Baudelaire-obsessed boyfriend Gerald, portrayed by Alex Beh, arrives.
What ensues is an alcohol-fueled, sexually tense and possibly life-threatening weekend that will change the lives of the young people involved forever.

The film premiered to critical acclaim at a number of film festivals including the Sarasota Film Festival, Denver Film Festival and the St. Louis International Film Festival. “Backgammon” was written directed y Francisco Orvañanos and produced in conjunction with Colin Stanfield, Miguel Boccaloni and Chris Moore.
Orvañanos has directed two award-winning short films, “Ya No Estamos Juntos (We Are No Longer Together)” and “No Pasó Nada (Nothing Happened)” which collectively screened at over 30 international film festivals. Francisco’s reveals, “I wanted to build on this dynamic, heightening the sense of mystery and intimating the danger and violence rather than overtly depict them.”
