‘General Hospital News: Alison Sweeney Back Directing At GH Again

‘General Hospital’ (GH) fans are in for a treat, Alison Sweeney (ex-Samantha “Sami” Brady, Days of Our Lives) has returned recently to direct another episode of your favorite soap opera. Sweeney tweeted about her return on her Twitter account, thanking executive producer Frank Valentini for allowing her to come back and work with the GH cast and crew.

Alison Sweeney left Days of Our Lives (DOOL) to pursue other career aspirations, giving up most of her acting career to move into the Director’s chair. She joined ABC’s General Hospital as a director, and her first episode was aired in August 2015, a second episode airing in November 2015. She came back to direct an episode on December 5, 2016; although ABC and GH representatives do not comment on air dates, like contracts, based on the date she directed, it looks like the episode will air some time in January 2017.

Alison Sweeney is a force to be reckoned with; not only is she a fantastic actress but she has now added several titles to her list of achievements including producer and star of some Hallmark TV movies including the Murder She Baked movie series with lead actor, Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery, All My Children).

It seems the feelings are mutual when it comes to Sweeney returning to the director’s chair. Alison had tweeted that she loved the chance to work with the GH cast again, and Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos, GH) posted on her Twitter that she was lucky to work with her again. With a huge fan base from her time as Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives, you can be sure this is not the last we hear of Alison Sweeney, she is going places and she is rising up fast. Her passion for directing will surely bring her back to General Hospital sooner than we think.
