‘General Hospital’ Interview: Jean Passanante And Shelly Altman Reveal ‘GH’ Summer Spoilers – Talk Temporary Maxie And Nik Recasts – The Future Of JaSam!

‘General Hospital’ spoilers are already teasing that this summer will be full of mystery, love found and love lost and so much more. Michael Fairman recently spoke with both co-head writers Shelly Altman and Jean Passionate to get the scoop on what ‘GH’ viewers can expect.

The writers revealed that there will be some interesting additions to the ‘General Hospital’ cast. The co-head writers also discussed the temporary recasts of Maxie Jones [Molly Burnett] and Nikolas Cassadine [Nick Stabile] and how this will affect the storylines. It’s time to talk the summer of 2016!

Michael Fairman asked how difficult it was as writers to face a recast they may not have anticipated as is the case with Nikolas and Maxie. Jean responded that in her experience, as well as Shelly’s, when an event occurs that takes an actor of the canvas usually the writers will decide to write the character out until the actor can return to the role.

However, there is a point where the writers find themselves unable to write around a critical point in a storyline, especially when there are many other characters involved in the plot. That’s what happened when it came to temporarily replacing Kirsten Storms and Tyler Christopher.

When asked if ‘GH’ viewers will continue to see more of Brad and Lucas, Shelly Altman replied that yes, viewers will see more of the characters both individually and separately. Jean reassures fans that Brad and Lucas are “very important to the canvas because they are connected to the main characters.” There was concern that Brad and Lucas would merely be “trotted out for a few episodes.” This is definitely not the case the co-headwriters’ confirm.

Bree Williamson will bring Claudette – Nathan’s ex-wife – to Port Charles by the end of July. Bree is currently on recurring status. The character was actually written specifically for Bree. Altman and Passanante reveal that when executive producer Frank Valentini asked them what kind of character they saw as Claudette they both answered “Bree Williamson!” and TPTB were lucky enough to snag the actress for the role.

The big question on everyone’s mind is what is going to happen with Jason Morgan [Billy Miller] and Sam Morgan [Kelly Monaco]. What spoilers can Jean and Shelly share about JaSam?

Shelly Altman revealed that Jason and Sam are “going to be on their big adventure together. They are together.” The co-headwriter says they do not want Jason going back and forth between women – just yet. The writers believe it’s time to give Jason and Sam some happiness at least for now.
