‘Empire’ Season 3 Spoilers: Juan Antonio Joins Cast As Philip – Jamal Lyon’s New Love Interest!

‘Empire’ Season 3 spoilers tease that when the hit FOX drama’s Fall 2016 premiere airs on September 21, fans will get to meet Jamal Lyon’s [Jussie Smollett] new love interest!  According to ‘Empire’ spoilers, Juan Antonio will be playing the part of Philip – the lucky guy that catches Jamal’s eye.

Juan Antonio, one of the newest addition’s to FOX’s ‘Empire‘ cast is actually relatively new to the acting game – but he is already making a name for himself rather quickly.  The handsome actor had minor roles on some major TV shows in 2015, like ‘How To Get Away With Murder,’ ‘Modern Family,‘ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’  He also appeared as Luke Wedman on ‘Murder In The First.’

According to ‘Empire‘ Season 3 spoilers, Philip is a war veteran that works at the local PTSD support group.  As you all remember, Jussie Smollett’s character Jamal Lyon was shot in the wild Season 2 ending.  And, spoilers indicate that as part of his recovery, Jamal will attend a PTSD group to deal with the emotional end of things.  It’s no secret that getting shot hurts you physically, but it also can do lasting emotional and mental damage to a person as well.

Spoilers tease that Jamal Lyon will be fighting an uphill battle in Season 3 after the shooting incident, but it sounds like Juan Antonio’s character will be the light at the end of the tunnel, and definitely spice up the show a bit.  Juan Antonio is an incredibly good-looking man, and we are thrilled to have him on ‘Empire‘ Season 3.  Plus, it will definitely be interesting to see how the Lyon Family responds to Jamal’s new love interest, they aren’t exactly the most welcoming bunch.
