‘Empire’ Season 3 Spoilers: Can Jamal Break The Lyon Family Feud – Will Hakeem Turn On Lucious?

‘Empire’ season 3 spoilers reveal that it won’t be so easy for Jamal [Jussie Smollett] will continue to be the conscious of the Lyon family. Lucious [Terrence Howard] should be extra careful and sleep with one eye open. Hakeem [Bryshere Y. Gray] will turn on his father. It may not happen quickly, but it will happen.

According to an interview with TV Guide, ‘Empire’ director Sanna Hamri revealed, “Jamal is going into an introspective place of ‘What is this life worth?’ He wants to break the cycle. He represents the conscious of the show.”

Hakeem isn’t as introspective as Jamal – you know his anger over Lucious ruining his wedding to Laura [Jamila Velazquez] will be something Jamal may never forgive.

Not only did Lucious basically force Laura out of Hakeem’s life, the music mogul turned around and married Anika [Grace Gealey] where Laura and Hakeem were supposed to be wed.

Adding insult to injury, Anika is pregnant with Hakeem’s baby and everyone in the Lyon family knows it. Lucious, being Lucious, will more than likely make a power play and claim the child as his own. The new heir to the Lyon Family Dynasty – as if there isn’t enough fighting amongst Lucious’ three sons over who should be Lucious’s successor.

Cookie [Taraji P. Henson] has a lot to think about in season 3 of ‘Empire.’ Just as Cookie and Lucious were getting close Lucious betrayed Cookie once again by marrying Anika. Cookie is still co-CEO of Empire and spent 17 years in prison while Lucious built a multi-billion dollar company. Cookie will not be dismissed easily, that’s for sure.
