In a press release dated Tuesday, December 13, BBC worldwide outlined the new partnership and how it will bring an “unrivaled digital catalog of British content under one ad-free subscription service.”

BritBox will feature a ‘Now’ category which will carry ‘EastEnders’ as quickly as 24 hours after the program is broadcast in the United Kingdom.
Other series that will be found in the ‘Now’ category will include ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Holby City.’
The subscription video on demand service will be available for viewing on all devices with access to the Internet and WiFi. This includes iOS, Android, Roku, AppleTV and Chromecast when Britbox launches in the United States.
Not only will American viewers have access to the BAFTA winning ‘EastEnders,’ but other award-winning British programming that has never been available for viewing in the United States.
These programs will include thousands of hours of programming drawn from ITV and BBC and will be under the British Classics collection or the BritBox service.

Just a few of the programs available will include ‘Brideshead Revisited,’ ‘Pride and Prejudice’ and ‘Upstairs Downstairs.’
BritBox subscribers will have access to drama premieres in addition to ‘Eastenders,’ ‘Emmerdale,’ ‘Holby City’ and the partial list of British classics. Look for ‘New Blood,’ ‘The Moonstone,’ ‘Cold Feet,’ and ‘Silent Witness’ to be available via the subscription video on demand service.
Also included will be favorite British comedies ‘Keeping Up Appearances,’ ‘Family Towers’ and many more the BBC Worldwide press release revealed.
Full details about the BritBox service, including additional titles and the price of the subscription video service on demand will be released as the project release date nears. BBC Worldwide has not yet announced an estimated date that American fans can begin subscribing to the new service.
