It looks like Latino newcomer Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez) is jockeying to be Salem’s next shady power player on Days of Our Lives. But does he stand a chance against the established Kiriakis and DiMera families?
Stranger Eduardo showed up in town months ago to mourn the loss of a family member, a daughter he barely knew. He got a cold welcome, being that he had been an absentee father and all. Oops, turns out he had a second family in town, who also had no love for the deadbeat dad!
Over time Eduardo’s story came out: he was a reluctant assassin and it was too dangerous for him to be around his loved ones. He stayed away all those years in order to protect them, but now that he’s a free man, he wants to be a family man.
And a family man’s got to earn a living, so he proposed a new business venture to the son Dario (Jordi Vilasuso) who hates him. What better way to bond than to work side by side, right?
But the kind of business Eduardo has in mind may have the father-son duo bonding in a jail cell!
Eduardo told Dario he wants him to work at Club TBD, “moving merchandise.” Dario protested that the business sounded like a front, and Eduardo didn’t disagree. Could he really be leading his son into a life of crime?
Too late! Dario is an accomplished petty thief and an experienced partner in crime, having helped lady friends clean up messes in the past.
What exactly is Eduardo trying to pull? When he led his family to believe that he wanted to make amends for his past crimes, was he lying?
When Dario slyly reminded his dad that he had inside information about Kiriakis shipping routes from his days working in their Argentina office, Eduardo smiled.
Is this the beginning of a risky new alliance? Whatever Eduardo’s cooking up, he better not try to include his police officer son, Rafe (Galen Gering)!
