Kate Mansi did an outstanding job as she showed Abigail’s range of emotions this week. Abby was overjoyed to be marrying Chad (Billy Flynn) and Mansi gave off a wedding glow to prove it. According to Soap Opera Digest, Mansi also wrote Abigail’s vows for the big day. No wonder they seemed to heartfelt! There was a lot of love in the DiMera living room.
However, things took a dramatic turn thanks to Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) escape. Mansi is helping us feel Abigail’s terror. It’s really contributing to the suspense of this storyline. Is Abby losing her mind? We’ll have to wait and see, but we’re definitely enjoying Mansi’s portrayal of a newlywed on edge.
Of course, we have to give major props to Billy Flynn this week as well. When Chad looks at Abigail, you can tell he completely adores her. Flynn is able to convey so much with a simple glance. Like Mansi, Flynn is putting his heart into his role.
Chad is desperate to protect Abigail from Ben and her own fear. He knows the threat is taking a toll on Abby and he just wants to help. “Days” fans are loving Flynn’s take on a supportive spouse. We should talk about those scenes with Thomas, too. Flynn is adorable with a baby in his arms. Is there anything cuter than watching Chad tell Thomas bedtime stories? We don’t think so.
It was a big week for Theresa as she dealt with Summer’s (Marie Wilson) interference and faced a surprise proposal from Brady (Eric Martsolf). Now that Theresa has turned her life around, she’s toned down her old attitude. Nevertheless, Jen Lilley always manages to sneak in a little of Theresa’s trademark sass. It’s nice that Theresa’s not a total goody-goody. It’s all about balance.
Lilley also impressed us when Brady popped the question. We needed to feel Theresa’s excitement and we certainly did. It was a joy to watch petite Lilley tackle Martsolf to the ground. Whether you’re a “Thrady” fan or not, Lilley is doing her part to win you over.
It’s been a while since we saw John involved in an action-packed storyline, but “Days of Our Lives” now has one in full swing. Drake Hogestyn showed us the pain John was feeling after learning the truth about his father. John may be chained to a pole, but that hasn’t limited Hogestyn’s stellar performance.
DOOL viewers could feel John’s despair over Yo Ling’s (Tobin Bell) revelations. His father was supposed to be a war hero. Instead, Yo Ling is a ruthless man who was willing to capture his son to save his own life. When Paul (Christopher Sean) was thrown in the mix, the stakes were raised. Hogestyn is hitting all the right notes as a concerned dad and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
