‘Days of Our Lives’ alum Peter Reckell [Ex-Bo Brady] has joined the cast of ‘The Fantasticks’. Reckell is actually making a return to the off-Broadway show that is being revived. Previously he played the role of The Mute 35 years ago when the show had its original run. Now, according to Playbill he returns in September to play the role of El Gallo.
El Gallo is described as a mysterious and charismatic person who leads the staged abduction of The Girl and also narrates the show. His songs are said to be ‘I can see it’ and ‘Try to Remember’. Reckell will take on the role in the upcoming revival of the musical that runs from September 5 to September 25 at the Jerry Orbach Theatre located near Times Square.
He joins other cast members; Andrew Polce, Donald Corren, Dale Hensley, Madison Claire Parks, Michael Nostrand, Drew Seigla, Rob Richardson, John Thomas Waite, Kimberly Immanuel and MacIntyre Dixon. Robert Felstein is listed as the Musical Director of the show and also the pianist.
Reckell has been teasing fans of a number of new projects that he is involved in since his exit from ‘Days of Our Lives’. Most well known to daytime fans as Bo Brady, Reckell chose to walk away from the role that made him a household name. His character, Bo was killed off due to a brain tumor that no cure was available for, he died in a very emotional episode taking his last breaths in the arms of the woman he loved dearly, Hope Brady [Kristian Alfonso].

No doubt fans miss Bo and his alter-ego, but Reckell chose to venture out into some new projects. So fans can look forward to his role this September in ‘The Fantasticks’. Be sure to get your tickets to catch Reckell’s performance.
