‘Days of Our Lives’ News: Performer of the Week – Vivian Jovanni

“Days of Our Lives” has been tackling a heartbreaking rape storyline and it can sometimes be tough to watch. Nevertheless, DOOL is hitting all the right notes when it comes to the aftermath. The show doesn’t want to miss the chance to educate viewers on the difficult consequences that come along with traumatic events like this.

Many “Days” fans have been praising Vivian Jovanni for her great work as Ciara Brady. There’s always an adjustment period with recasts and Jovanni had big shoes to fill when she took over for Lauren Boles. However, Ciara’s current storyline has really allowed Jovanni to make the role her own. Jovanni’s scenes have proven captivating lately and that’s why we’re naming her our DOOL performer of the week.

When Ciara stared down a restrained Chase (Jonathon McClendon), Jovanni brought life to the character with a wide range of emotions. The confusion, despair and rage all came together for a flawless confrontation. We definitely saw some powerful moments.

Once Hope (Kristian Alfonso) got involved, things became even more emotional. “Days of Our Lives” does a fantastic job with family scenes. The bond between Hope and Ciara is nice to see. Alfonso and Jovanni exhibit realistic mother-daughter chemistry, so it’s a plus whenever they get to interact.

The other teen characters have been adding depth to this story as well. Jonathon McClendon has been giving us several layers of Chase. Olivia Rose Keegan has been excellent as a loyal and supportive Claire. James Lastovic was awesome when Joey led the charge to make Chase pay the price. Kyler Pettis has also been a bright spot in his portrayal of a concerned and caring Theo.
