Last year it was reported that Matthew Ashford will reprise the role of Jack Deveraux on ‘Days of Our Lives’ and since the series tapes several months in advance his first air date will not be until sometime later this year.
Jack Deveraux was last seen on screen back in August of 2012 when he was killed after being trapped inside an elevator that fell and crashed.

Matthew Ashford was a part of one of Days most popular super-couples – Jack and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). There is no word yet on whether his return to Salem will be in the form of a ghost or there will be a reveal that his character is indeed alive. If his character is alive, what would this mean for the persons he left behind, especially his beloved Jennifer and his children JJ (Casey Moss) and Abigail (Kate Mansi)?
Last night Ashford tweeted a photo on Twitter with the caption: “Steve and Matt together again?” In the picture we can see a room number 1436 with Matthew Ashford’s and Stephen Nichol’s name on it. What does this mean? Will he make appearances as ghost to his brother Steve (Stephen Nichols) or is Jack alive and reunited with his brother after so many years. Jack originally debuted as a villain wedging himself between Steve and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) but eventually became a core character as a brother to Steve and Adrienne (Judi Evans) and as a husband to Jennifer.
It would be good to see a resurrected Jack Deveraux on the canvas standing as substantial father figure to his children and helping Jennifer get rid of her new found addiction. It would also be good to Jack and Steve back on adventures again. Stay tune as we update you more as the story on Matthew Ashford’s return to the series develop.
