‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: Kassie DePaiva Opens Up About Acute Myeloid Leukemia Diagnosis And Hospitalization, ‘DOOL’ Return Will Be Brief

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers have fans excited that Eve [Kassie DePaiva] is returning to ‘DOOL.’ Sadly, Eve won’t be in Salem very long. Kassie was diagnosed in July with acute myeloid leukemia and was in the hospital for six weeks.

Kassie shared the news with ‘Days of Our Lives’ fans on her website recently. Acute myeloid leukemia is a very serious and rare disease but Kassie’s prognosis is hopeful.

In the blog post the actress shared, “I will not likely need a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, and we expect a complete cure.” Kassie has approximately three months of treatments left to go.

The hospitalization and treatment has taken a toll on Kassie DePaiva. The actress revealed she is not ready to return work in front of the cameras right now. However, Kassie has set a goal and that is to get healthy and bring Eve back to Salem soon.

The information Kassie DePaiva shared with fans was deeply personal, not only about the acute myeloid leukemia diagnosis, but about her faith in God and “amazing prayer warriors, family, and friends that have been extremely supportive and life affirming throughout [diagnosis and treatment].

Kassie DePaiva’s strength came through further in the blog post. Kassie wants everyone to be aware that there is a desperate need not only for funding for stem cell and bone marrow research but also donations of platelets and blood for those that need transplants.
