‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: Drake Hogestyn Shares Devastating News On Twitter

We have more sad news to report from the soap world, “Days of Our Lives,” actor Drake Hogestyn (John Black) has just announced that his beloved mother has passed away.

Hogestyn posted a beautiful picture of his mom along with this caption to his Twitter account: “We’ve all lost some great ones lately…I just lost the greatest. Love you Mom.”

Hogestyn posted a lovely black and white picture of his mother taken on her wedding day. The beautiful young bride is the picture of elegance in her lace gown and with flowers in her hair.

In his tribute Hogestyn does not specify when his mother passed, but his fans are no doubt grateful for the opportunity to share their condolences with the actor.

Also in December, former, “General Hospital,” star Rick Springfield (Dr. Noah Drake) reported the passing of his mother.

The actor posted this heartfelt tribute on his Facebook page, “My Mummy in Australia has passed away. She died while bringing in her washing from the clothes line. Sat on her walker and passed facing the blue spruce that my Dad planted in the backyard.” Springfield’s mother passed away on December 21.

Hogestyn joined the long running sudser, “Days of Our Lives,” in 1986. His initial run lasted from 1986 to 2007. He returned for stints in 2008 to 2009 and 2011 to 2013. His current run began in 2014.  Along with soap veteran Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) he is one half of the supercouple known as “Jarlena.”
