‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: DOOL’s Executive Confirms Drake Hogestyn’s Will Be Missing in Action!

In an interview, DOOL’s Executive Producer Ken Corday finally responded to rumors we have all heard about Drake Hogestyn’s (John Black) freak accident at his home. The actor had to take some time off, and suffered internal bleeding, after a devastating fall from a tree in May.

He is currently on screen, training his son Paul, (Christopher Sean) as a new PI for Black Patch, the company he started with Steve “Patch” Johnson (Stephen Nichols), but that is because the show is taped so far in advance, meaning his absence may not be for a while.

When asked if there were any updates or on how Drake was doing, the EP didn’t refute the rumors, but said “We wish Drake the best and hope to see him back on set soon”. There are no other details on how John Black go missing nor how the storyline will explain his absence, but maybe it will tie into the abduction story of his grandson, Tate?

Drake joined “Days of Our Lives” in 1986. He became immensely popular with the fans when he was paired with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Jarlena quickly became a soap opera supercouple!!

This isn’t the first time Drake Hogestyn suffered injuries, on New Year’s Eve 2007, Carl Raymond Cheney tries to exorcise Drake. Cheney plead no contest to misdemeanor battery, entering private property without permission after breaking into Drake’s Malibu home. The crazed fan ran into the house towards Drake’s daughter asking where her father was, so he could cast Satan out of him. The fan was calling Drake by his stage name “John Black” and insisted Satan was inside of him after seeing the demonic possession story involving Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Drake and his son were able to hold down the intruder with duct tape until police arrived.
