Casting news that former soap star Connor Weil has joined ‘Days of Our Lives’ as Mark McNair. Weil shared the news via both Instagram and Twitter that he has been hired by the NBC soap opera. Weil announced via Twitter “The DAYS grow ever fewer to my appearance on #daysofourlives next month! @bradeyoung and #dreamloudofficial are helping me ramp up.”
Back in October of 2015, a casting call was posted where Days requested someone to fill the role of rebellious Mark. The call indicated that the potential individual should be between the ages of 17 and 18. Mark is said to be the popular son of a very strict judge in Salem. According to soap reports Weil answered the call and was the successful candidate after numerous auditions.
Weil’s first airdate is set for April 22. The question is what will bring this character to Salem? Will Mark have other connections other than that of the judge? As stated by the call Mark is very rebellious, so it seems he will be a trouble maker. Will he be involved in the teen stories that currently exist in Salem?
You can expect great work from Weil as this is not his first daytime role. He previously played the role of a Bully back in 2013 on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Since the character he played on Y&R possess similar traits to his new found role, this should be an easy task for him. Apart from his brief Y&R stint, he is most popularly known for playing the role of Will Belmont on “Scream: The TV Series”.
So Days fan, are you happy about this? Do you think Weil has what it takes to play the rebellious teen Days is looking for? Are you hoping he stays for an extended period?
