‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: Alison Sweeney Joins Cast Of ‘The Irresistible Blueberry Bakeshop & Café’ With ‘Y&R’ Alum Rebecca Staab

Former daytime stars are hard at work for an upcoming movie release. Ever since leaving ‘Days of Our Lives’, Alison Sweeney [Ex-Sami Brady] has kept busy with her role in the Murder She Baked series. But even when she isn’t working on new releases of of Murder She Baked, Sweeney still manages to keep busy with other projects.
The latest she is working on is a role in the upcoming Hallmark Movie ‘The Irresistible Blueberry Bakeshop & Café’. Sweeney is apparently listed as a producer for the upcoming film as well as a cast member. Not only is this former daytime and beloved actress a part of the movie, but so is Rebecca Staab who is fondly known for her roles on ‘The Young and the Restless’ and ‘Port Charles’. They have been tweeting much about their work together along with some other big name stars that are a part of the cast including Sarah-Jane Redmond.
Melissa Salmons is noted as the script writer for the film while Kristopher Tabori is noted as the director. Salmons is well known to daytime fans having written script for many of their favorite soap operas including; ‘Days of Our Lives’, ‘Guiding Light’, ‘As the World Turns’, ‘The Young and the Restless’, ‘One Life to Live’ and ‘Another World’.

Currently there is no synopsis for the upcoming film but it is noted that it’s based on the novel of the same title written by Mary Simses. The book however is about a high-powered attorney who wants to fulfill her grandmother’s dying wish. Though there is no synopsis it was revealed that the team is currently in pre-production stages and filming begins in the month of July in Canada.
