‘Days Of Our Lives’ Interview: Vincent Irizarry Discusses Deimos Kiriakis – New Role On ‘DOOL’

“Days of Our Lives” fans – Vincent Irizarry is as excited to be in Salem as you are to seem him on your television screen. The actor believes the character of Deimos Kiriakis is the perfect for him.

Vincent is no stranger to the land of daytime drama and he’s even worked with nearly all the “DOOL” directors at some point in his career. In fact, Irizarry and “DAYS” executive producer Ken Corday met years ago.

In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest Vincent revealed that he met Ken sometime in the 1990s at a Soap Opera Digest Awards ceremony. Way back then Corday was interested in working with Irizarry, even telling the actor, “If you ever want to do soap, please know we’d love to have you.”

Nearly two decades later Vincent and Ken are finally working together! Irizarry loves his new character and can’t wait for “DAYS” viewers to get their first look at Deimos. In the interview with Soap Opera Digest Vincent shared, “This role feels like it was tailor-made for me. I love it.”

Many of the “DOOL” cast members were also familiar faces. Vincent shot his first “Days of our Lives” scenes with Judi Evans [Adrienne] whom he knows from their time on “Guiding Light.” The actor has made personal appearances with Wally Kurth [Justin], Mary Beth Evans [Kayla] and Stephen Nichols [Steve], and has known Drake Hogestyn [John] for many years.

And Vincent Irizarry has been reunited with a few of his past co-workers from “All My Children” and “Santa Barbara,” too! From “AMC” – Robert Scott Wilson [Ben] and Sal Stowers [Lani]. From “Santa Barbara” – A Martinez [Eduardo].

“DOOL” fans are you excited to find out what kind of trouble Deimos Kirikas will cause in Salem? In addition to shooting his first scenes with Judi Evans, Vincent Irizarry has filmed scenes with Drake Hogestyn and A Martinez. This should be interesting, don’t you think?
